Basic / Breeders Info

Humboldt Seed Org.s Green Crack Description

Known for many years as the “Mango”, Green Crack’s name was coined by the famous Snoop Dogg in the early 2000’s. With an Indica-dominant market, there are a few outstanding Sativas that have made a long-lasting impression on California and the rest of the North American smoke culture, except this one. Comprised of a Skunk #1 and an isolated Afghani, this combination resulted in a fast-growing, high-yielding plant with a short flowering period, finishing extremely resinous and pungent.

Indoors, Green Crack seeds have rapid vegetative growth displaying large thin fan leaves with long spaces between inter-nodal sites allowing for good light penetration. Footprints can be filled quite quickly as trellising is highly recommended to support very large terminal colas in later stages of development. Green Crack is nitrogen demanding backed by a generally high metabolism. With just an eight-week finish it’s hard to deny this plant’s overall performance.
Outdoors, Green Crack can be expected to be harvested in the first week of October. Cages are recommended, accompanied by secondary support for the finishing stages. Plants can reach heights of 12-16 feet contingent upon the diet, planting schedule, size of the hole or container and the line of latitude . GC does have a slight susceptibility to powdery mildew and, as always, we advise taking preventive measures to insure a clean and productive finish.

Mango sweetness
Green Crack seeds’ flavor profile is something of exquisite mango sweetness. Fruity and floral overtones are matched by sharp gassy and peppery undertones transferring perfectly back to the taste. This high energy uplifting effect is great for day-time usage. It’s become well-renowned for appetite stimulation, relaxation and its very functional benefits.
This top-notch high-producing classic Sativa is one of California’s most consistently demanded strains. The unmistakable flavor backed by a plentiful harvest leaves this highly desired for any grow space.

Green Crack

Green Crack is a sativa dominant cross of the stunning genetics between 1989 SSSC Skunk #1 and Isolated Afghan Cut. The plant has the structure of a Christmas tree, good resistance to mold and various pests, and grows quickly and vigorously. There is a lot of resinous buds on the branches. The strain grows well indoors or in warm, dry climates. The crop appears in 60-65 days in the range of 400-600 g / m2.
Green Crack has a tropical fruit flavor, with aromas of pineapple, incense, Mago and cedar. Smoke gives a powerful euphoric effect, more cerebral. This variety will appeal to Skunk fans, as well as those who appreciate premium fast-blooming effective strains.

The smell was initially largely herbal before it was dried. Eucalyptus comes to mind. Once dried, it really does smell like when you peel a mango, with the herbal/eucalyptus-y smell following very closely behind.

I can’t say much about taste. I’ve never been one of those people who can tell different smell ‘notes’ while smoking, so I’m not gonna start making shit up. It smoked and tasted like weed. Solid, dense draw, but smooth as far as I’m concerned.

I really enjoy the high. I spontaneously wrote an entire essay while high; the ideas just came flooding. Mustn’t lay down on a couch though, because if I do, I can’t get up. I say that it might have a paranoia effect, just because I don’t trust myself to behave normally around people when high, as I became seriously chatty, and focus/obsess over minute details. I’m pretty sure that’s suspicious behavior.

During the last 2-3 weeks of flowering, it became apparent that it had phosphorus deficiency, as pointed out by the kind masters here in growdiaries. I upped the P using MKP (a typical bloom booster), but I don’t know if it did anything. Maybe it stopped the progression, I don’t know.

Also during the last half of the flowering, the pH swing was crazy. I’d pH the rez high to 6.5, and it would have dropped to 5.6 by the 2nd day. This plant was eating a lot. I need to figure out a better flowering nute for my next grows.
